I have been studying Japanese with Noriyuki sensei for a number of years now. Although I was no complete beginner, it was Noriyuki-san’s dedication, seriousness, good sense of humour and above all deep love for the Japanese language and for teaching it that made me develop a lifelong fondness for the Japanese language and inspired me to study hard to master it. Noriyuki-san has an extensive knowledge of Japanese linguistics, as well as of Japanese history and culture, and so a remarkable element in his teaching method is that he may often use this knowledge to explain the finer and less obvious aspects of grammar and vocabulary and put them into context. At the same time, he is incredibly patient with the student’s questions and individual pace of progress. I could not recommend him highly enough to anyone who loves Japanese and wants to learn it rapidly, efficiently and enjoyably.
